The NCL season begins in just under a month with our first NSW Ninja Challenge for 2026 hosted by Australian Warrior Fitness on 21 & 22 February, so it’s time to take care of some housekeeping to close the book on 2025 and keep you in the loop on changes in 2026.
Changes in 2026
Prize money increase for Total Victory
We have never had a Total Victory in the adults divisions since our first competition in 2015 and we really want to see it happen this season, so we’re adding a little bit of extra incentive to keep our ninjas motivated as they train to go all the way in 2026.
We are doubling the prize money awarded to the ninja who claims Total Victory in the Adults Division from $5,000 to $10,000.
Separate podium for male and female athletes in the Teens Division at the NCL Finals
For the first time since 2019, we’ll be reintroducing separate podiums for male and female athletes in the Teens Division at the NCL Finals.
This is in recognition of results in this age group in recent years that warrant having them separated at this stage of the season.
However, this change is for the NCL Finals only, not our Ninja Challenge qualifiers throughout the season.
This means the Teens Division will remain open to all sexes at qualifying events throughout the season, and all sexes will compete for the same qualifying spots to reach the NCL Finals.
Wrapping up 2025
Our partnership with the World Ninja League continued in 2025, which means our top performing male and female athletes overall and from each state in each division have earned a spot at the World Ninja League Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina in the USA in June 2026.
The number of qualifying athletes from each division/state used the same formula we use for our regular season qualifiers – so it ranged from 1-5 male/female athletes per state per division depending on the total number of male/female athletes from each state that competed at the NCL Finals or NCL Youth Finals.
Athletes in the adult male/adult female divisions can choose between the WNL’s adult male/adult female or elite male/elite female divisions when signing up. If any of those qualifying athletes are in the eligible age range, they may also choose to enter the young adult male/female division instead.
If your name is on the list below, you will be contacted by the WNL closer to the World Ninja League Championships with details on how you can purchase your ticket to compete. Please contact the WNL directly with any questions regarding the WNL.
